Sunday Funday

I’m so grateful for yesterday! The sun was shinning, the temperatures were comfortable in the low 70’s, with a cool breeze. The morning started out like most Sunday mornings Continue Reading Here

INTERNET = INDEPENDENCE OR NOT

Can life be more boring?  I didn’t think I could be more bored than I have been over the last years since #paralysis became my new normal but I was wrong.

On Tuesday, August 4th, my home state of NY, along with many other states along the East Coast, was hit by Tropical Storm Iasis.⛈️  Continue Reading Here

Do I Dare. . .

My mind is racing in a million different directions…..where do I start. As you know by now, I’m a #little_person or #person_of_short_stature (a.k.a. #dwarf). What you need to understand is that back in 1960/1961 very little was known about #dwarfism and as a result I have never had any “specialized” care or “specialized” doctors, etc. Continue Reading Here

The Magic of a Campfire

Ahh, the magic and wonder of a campfire. This past weekend we decided to do a fire 🔥 (yes, it was 90ish degrees but we didn’t care). As we sat relaxing by the water, with our drink in hand 🍷 and music playing, Continue Reading Here

Then today, while watching our NY Governor give his daily briefing today the words #change, #changed and #changing struck me and I began thinking about those words. Continue Reading Here

I Hope You Dance. . .

Mother’s Day. . .a special day to show our Mother’s extra thanks, extra appreciation and most importantly extra 💖.

Not being a mother myself, I can only guess what my mother must have thought that Thursday morning back in 1961. I’ve since been told that on that Thursday morning, the doctors said “she has skin like ivory and jet black hair like her Mommy,” BUT, Continue Reading Here

WORDS AND MEANINGS

#NEW NORMAL

We are now 2 months or so with the majority of people attempting to adjust to a “new normal” life amidst #COVID19. While I understand that living a “new normal” lifestyle isn’t easy, doesn’t come naturally and surely isn’t fun, I’ve come to understand and realize that life goes on, whether we like it or not, even when this “new normal” is forced upon us. For me, my “new normal” of #living_this_paralyzed_life was forced on me at the hands of surgery gone wrong that fateful day in June 2016, nearly 4 years ago. Continue Reading Here

Uncertain Times

The #COVID19 #virus 🦠 is now affecting all our lives in ways we never would have imagined just 4 months ago. Ironically, #paralysis is now affecting my life in ways I would never have imagined just 4 years ago. Continue Reading Here
